How Getting Into Real Estate Saved My Life

I was an extreme alcoholic all throughout my twenties, and it was definitely a trying time. When I was 32, I went to rehab for the last time. I decided to finally get sober once and for all. But I had done this at least six times before, and sobriety never stuck. I think the difference this last time is that I found my passion in real estate.

I met Erica in 2015, and she helped me to find my true passion: selling homes and helping people find their dream houses. I started learning more about it, and I took a couple of courses about flipping houses. In 2016, I got my real estate license, and I have been selling houses ever since.

I know that selling houses and finding something I’m passionate about and helping people has helped keep me sober. I know that I never would have been able to maintain my sobriety if I didn’t replace all of the negative activities in my life with positive and productive activities. It also helped that I made friends with sober real estate agents, and in 2017, Erica, WHOEVER, and I got together and formed MCA Realtors. We have had an amazing time working together so far, and we have loved all of the families and individuals we’ve been working with to find homes.

The point is if you are struggling with addiction, you can get the help that you deserve. And afterwards, you can stay clean and sober, especially if you find out what your true passion is in life and work to help others as much as you can.
